The part of the demo your team didn't see.

One person sat through the walkthrough. Everyone else got a PDF and a number. This page is the ten-minute version of what that person saw: real footage of a unit stopping a theft, what a trailer does that a guard can't, what the cameras actually cover, and what your crew will see on their phones.

The Meridian 360° camera head: two wide-angle cameras, a 25× PTZ, strobe bar and talk-down speaker

Crossing the virtual fence line (orange, along the chain-link in Camera 1) trips a detection rule the instant it happens, and a live agent checks it — so leaves, birds and headlights don't page anyone.

Deterred

A live monitoring agent confirms it's real, then talks down over the speaker while strobes light the site. The intruders know they're being watched — by a person.

Denied

They leave with nothing. Every second is recorded and retained for 30 days — evidence for police, insurance and your own records.

What to watch for: in Camera 1, two would-be thieves come over the chain-link fence — the orange virtual fence line — and work toward the enclosed equipment trailer. About 0:45 into the clip one comes over the fence (the red box tracks him), works his way to the trailer around 1:00, and the talk-down from our monitoring center sends him back out the way he came in. Camera 2 picks up the same intruder (red box) as he walks out from behind the trailer and leaves. Nothing was taken. Footage shared with the customer's approval.

The question your team is asking

Why a trailer instead of a guard?

A guard sees one place at a time, works one shift at a time, and bills by the hour. A monitored trailer watches the entire site every night, records everything, and costs a flat rate. Put your own numbers in.

Your guard math

$32.50/hr
12 hrs

Guard cost = rate × hours × nights × 4.33 weeks. Rates shown are California blended averages for billed guard services. Urban centers — Los Angeles, San Francisco, San José — run higher because of local minimum-wage laws, and the low end of any range usually requires a long-term contract (often 12 months or more). True 24/7 single-post coverage is $20K–$35K+ per month.

Monthly cost, side by side

One guard, the hours above$10,184
One monitored Meridian unit, 24/7$1,950
$8,234kept every month — 81% less than the guard, with the whole site covered all night instead of one post.

Typical single-unit deployments run under $2,000/month all-in: monitoring, police dispatch, unlimited data, cloud recording, delivery and setup.

What the unit actually sees

Four cameras. 360°. Detection to 300 feet.

Every Meridian head carries two 180° wide-angle cameras and a 25× PTZ — on the Valiant and UNIV platforms a dual-lens model with a fixed overview lens plus the zoom, which auto-tracks whatever trips a rule. Every lens runs detection at once, all night. Tap a camera to see what it covers.

What your team will see

Every camera, live, on any phone.

Your crew uses the CHeKT app. Unlimited users, no per-seat fees. This is a real screen from a live Meridian unit.

Each camera on the unit is its own feed with a timestamp. Tap one to go full screen.

2
Bell — alerts on, per camera

Blue bell means that camera's detection rules are armed. Your team gets push notifications on verified events, not on every passing headlight.

3
Activity tab — event clips and history

Every detection becomes a clip with the time and camera. Scrub back through the night, save a clip, share it with police or your insurer.

4
Speaker — talk-down

The megaphone icon is the on-site speaker — the same one our monitoring agents use to confront intruders live.
